Lazio ultras stab Celtic fans in central Rome
ROME – Two Celtic fans were stabbed, apparently by Lazio supporters, ahead of Thursday night’s football match, said police sources.
According to the first reports, they were part of a group of Celtic supporters who were attacked by Lazio ultras outside the Flann O’Brien Irish pub on Via Nazionale, central Rome, at approximately 11.30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Lazio ultras then disappeared. The two people stabbed were helped by police and medics and their condition is not thought to be serious.
The pub, which was full of Celtic supporters, was closed after the incident.
Celtic play Lazio in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
