Antonio Conte new Chelsea FC manager

ROME -- The new Chelsea manager has been announced, with Antonio Conte, formerly a member of Juventus and current manager of the Italian national side, taking over the role of head coach of the football club from July, having signed a three-year contract.  “Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Antonio Conte as First Team Head Coach,” read the official announcement that was posted on the London-based team’s site.

Conte will take over the role after the EURO 2016 tournament, in which his national side and country is competing.  When asked he said, “I am very excited about the prospect of working at Chelsea Football Club.  I am proud to be the coach of the national team of my country, and only a role as attractive as manager of Chelsea could follow that.”

This will be Chelsea’s fifth Italian manager, and he certainly has a long history of success behind him, having only lost two home league games in his three years as manager of Juventus, as well as spurring them onto winning three Series A titles after eight years of disappointment for the team.
