Mahindra Racing relocates to Varese

VARESE — Mahindra Racing, the only Indian manufacturer at the MotoGP worldwide championships, has taken a further step towards growth and development, with the recent move of their headquarters to a new location in the north of Italy.
This new facility is based in Varese, in the heart of the region of Lombardy, which also happens to be the centre of much of the long and glorious Italian history in the world of competitions and motorcycle production.
“We have decided to set up this centre in Italy, given the country’s passion and expertise in the development of motorcycles. It also demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the MotoGP championship” said Ananad Mahindra, chairman of the Mahindra Group.
The qualified personnel who work at this facility come from some of the best motorcycle companies in Italy, with experience ranging from racing, both on and off road, to production.
Mahindra Racing entered the World Championship in 2011, and has since grown steadily, both in terms of its results and its recognition, to become one of the cornerstones of the highly competitive Moto3 class. Confronted with well-known manufacturers such as Honda and KTM, the Indian brand has gone from just two drivers to hosting up to nine drivers in four teams in 2015.
Justifying their choice of loaction, Mufaddal Choonia, CEO of Mahindra Racing, said “the Lombardy Region is a strategic location for the rest of Europe, granting us access to a network of suppliers.”
Mahindra Racing is part of the Mahindra Group, worth $16.9 billion, based in India, which operates in 18 sectors, ranging from two wheels to the aerospace industry, and employs more than 200,000 people in 100 countries around the world.
