FAO media wizard "devastated" lovers
ROME – A senior executive in FAO corporate communications boasted that female colleagues he seduced were “obsessed” with him and “devastated” when he dropped them, FAO sources said.
Described by media team insiders as a “serial skirt chaser,” the executive also played a major role in dirty tricks operations organised by the murky department, notably the rigging of the appointment of the FAO’s Latin American Communications officer based in Santiago, to ensure that Juan Toha, the nephew of the head of the Chilean Socialist party, Caroline Toha, was appointed rather than two high-powered woman candidates.
Bragging about one of his former lovers, who later became his secretary, (but when they were together he was not her boss), the senior media wizard told female colleagues that she was “totally in love” with him and “devastated” when he dropped her.
“She now absolutely loathes him,” said one well-placed source.
The executive had wanted to move out of Media Relations at one point to the office of the Director General, “but apparently a former Argentinian lover in FAO dished on him and so he suddenly didn't get the job,“ said the source.
“He told me they used to sleep together and she was obsessed with him (just as a normal aside after coffee).”
The disclosures over the unhealthy, hothouse office culture at the UN food agency came as clients of two under age call girls in Parioli were sentenced to one year in prison suspended after they agreed to plead guilty to exploiting the teenage hookers aged 14 and 15.
Italian media reports quoted judicial sources as saying senior functionaries from FAO and IFAD, its sister food agency, were among suspected clients of the “baby” call girls but magistrates slapped a news blackout on disclosing further names in the case.
