Priest arrested for dealing cocaine

MILAN– Don Stefano Maria Cavaletti, rector of a parish in Carciano, has been arrested for possessing and supplying drugs, according to Police.
The Priest was reportedly at a “coke-party” held by acquaintances in Piazza Anghiliberto, Milan, but neighbours called the Police after hearing one of the partygoers fly into a drug-fuelled rage.
Cavalletti unsuccessfully tried to hide the cocaine and destroy his passport, and was arrested for possessing and dealing drugs on July 10.
During investigations, Cavalletti told Police he started to use cocaine to fight depression after having been convicted of defrauding an elderly woman of 22,000 euros back in September 2013.
The Priest has been absent from his parish San Giuseppe e Biagio, since Sunday 13 July, when he was not present for mass.
