Sollecito casts doubt on Knox alibi
ROME-Raffaele Sollecito, who was sentenced to 25 years in prison, claims that Amanda Knox's version of events reported in the sentence issued by the Florence appeals court in January "contained a few anomalies."
“It's Amanda's memories that exonerate me, she herself gives me an alibi when she says I have nothing to do with what the judges consider to be the truth," said Sollecito.
Raffale Sollecito, convicted along with Amanda Knox of the murder of British Erasmus student Meredith Kircher in Perugia 2009, called a press conference this morning and revealed that Amanda Knox had provided his alibi.
According to the Florence court, an argument between the British student and Amanda Knox over cleanliness of the flat, initiated the murder.
Despite the Florence court claiming that “reliable” evidence was found in the Perugia flat in “immediate moments after the murder” linking both Sollecito and Knox to the murder, they plan to make an appeal against the ruling to Italy’s highest court.
