English Theatre of Rome celebrates 30th anniversary with free Shakespeare performances

Rome– The English Theatre of Rome will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a week of free open air performances of William Shakespeare's As You Like It at three venues across the capital from July 19 to 26.
Directed by Carl Granieri and produced by Ford Entertainment, the production will feature a cast of more than 20 performers alongside an international production team. Original music has been composed by Merel van Dijk, with Gaby Ford serving as executive producer.
The anniversary programme, titled Pop Up Shakespeare, has been organised with the support of Casale dei Cedrati, the Italy Reads Programme at John Cabot University and the Notti di Cinema Festival.
The performances will begin at the Garden Theatre at Casale dei Cedrati on July 19, 20 and 21 before moving to the Lemon Courtyard at John Cabot University in Trastevere on July 23. The final performances will take place on July 24 and 25 at the Notti di Cinema Festival in Parco Tevere Marconi.
Admission to all performances is free, although advance registration and photo identification are required for the John Cabot University performance.
Running for approximately two hours, the production marks three decades of English language theatre in Rome and continues the company's commitment to making Shakespeare accessible to a wide international audience.
