How Neapolitan ties by Tais 'condense good taste of the wearer'

NAPLES – A Neapolitan retired banker has revolutionised the market for neck ties since launching his own brand of cravat in the fashion-conscious southern port city more than 20 years ago. “A handmade tie is an investment, a fundamental detail, the ideal and indispensable compliment to a certain type of clothing,” Giuseppe Tais explains as he shows off his latest elegant creations.
“It condenses the good taste and character of the wearer into a few metres of precious silk.”
“Those who love refinement cannot ignore the choice of an absolute top quality tie which inside, hides ‘a soul’ whose importance few people know – the interlining, “ he adds.
“The interlining of a high quality tie consists of two overlapping sheets: one in brushed wool serves to give shape and support to the tie; the other, in pure cotton, serves to prevent the electrostatic effect caused by the contact of wool with silk.”
“Ties by Tais,” was founded in 2005. “After many years of experience in the specific sector, having intercepted the needs of the true lovers of this elegant accessory, in 2005 I decided to create a high-quality tie on my own,” he says as his wife Dolores nods agreement.
“The study and experience of Neapolitan tailoring do not disappoint once again, providing a brilliant solution to ensure the inalterability of the perfect knot for the tie,” Pino adds.
“This unique and innovative element is represented by the reserve thread (so-called ‘clutch’), a cotton thread that crosses the tie along its entire length, having a dual function – to allow the tie not to deform after use and above all to prevent the knot from loosening, as often happens when the tie is worn.”
