Wine merchant murders family friend before mother's birthday celebrations

CAGLIARI, Sardinia - Emanuele Raindda had flown by helicopter to his mother's birthday after killing Cinzia Pinna with several pistol shots, police say- He does not even remember how many. The woman passed away in the night between Sept. 11 and 12 between Arzachena and Palau, and her corpse was found on the mans estate on Wednesday.
At the moment it is beliaved that she was killed for no reason: investigators, in fact, have not yet obtained from the entrepreneur in the wine sector, 41 years old, a motive for the 33-year-old's femicide.
He may reveal it in the detention hearing in front of the judge for the preliminary investigations Marcella Pinna, scheduled for Friday in the Nuchis prison, where the man is locked up after confessing that he had killed the woman who he had been occasionally dated for some time.
According to the magistrates, the two met on the evening of Sept. 11 and the man convinced her to follow him at home. There, the crime was commited. In his estate, the carabinieri discovered white powder on the table, half empty wine bottles scattered here and there, and blood inside and outside the large house.
The investigators will have to clarify if that white powder is cocaine, as it appears to be. And then the motive and the uncertain aspects of the story, starting from the washing of the sofa and the pillowcases of the cushions; who took care of it and when.
Instead, it seems that it was Raindda himself who tossed the body of Cinzia Pinna into the ground, not covered or hidden in any way. In fact, Milanese gardener who had been investigated for the concealment of corpse is set to leave the investigation.
The entrepreneur would have done everything himself and then got into the helicopter to arrive at the Vecchio Mulino di Arzachena restaurant, where his mother was celebrating her birthday with 150 guests. The Rainddas and the Pinnas have known each other for some time and Emanuele and Cinzia, who had chosen to be independent by working in a Palau club as a waitress, dated every now and then.
In the meantime, the investigations of the carabinieri continue, coordinated by the chief prosecutor of Tempio Pausania, Gregorio Capasso, and by the substitute Noemi Mancini, attempting to reconstruct all the phases of the crime.
