Meloni says there is 'a glimmer of hope for dialogue' after the Zelensky-Trump meeting

WASHINGTON - “Today is an important day. After three and a half years in which we faced a Russia that gave no sign of dialogue and demanded Kiev's capitulation, there are finally glimmers of hope for dialogue, because there is a stalemate that was created by the courage of the Ukrainians, but also by the united support that the West has provided to the nation in recent years,” announced Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni before meeting with Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House, reports Il Fatto Quotidiano.
“Obviously, Italy is there, as it has always been in these three and a half years. We stand by Ukraine, we support the US President's peace efforts, and we have been invited to contribute our diplomatic proposals,” she continued, emphasizing that “all possible solutions” must be explored.
