Some 3,300 kilos of cocaine destroyed in Livorno

  ROME - 3,300 kilos of cocaine, which were originally seized by the carabinieri in the port of Livorno in February 2020 were destroyed in a thermos-salizer on June 12, according to police. 

 The cocaine, which was produced in Colombia, was found hidden in a container on a ship flying the Marshall Islands’ flag and was headed to Marseille, France. After many years of investigations, the cocaine, which was confirmed to have had an exceptional degree of purity by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Florence and the provincial command of the Arma of Livorno, who organized its destruction in an incinerator in ia dell'Artigianato. The bricks were estimated by the authorities to be worth around half a billion euros.
