Salvini is ‘minister little bitch’new Fratelli d’Italia WhatsApp chats expose what they were thinking during their rise to power

ROME- New text messages shared amongst the members of Fratelli d’Italia, the party of Giorgia Meloni, set to be revealed in journalist Giacomo Salvini’s new book Fratelli di Chat, disclose that League leader Matteo Salvini is far from being a parliamentary favourite.

The insults shared amongst members of FdI have been quoted in Fatto Quotidiano include but are not limited to the following:

“Matteo Salvini is minister little bitch.” He is “a lout”, “ridiculous”, “incapable”, “a right-wing Renzi”, “loves Putin” and he is a politician who does “under the table agreements with Renzi for his brother-in-law Denis Verdini.”

Renzi, was, of course, another infamous figure, former President with surrounded with scandals including insider trading.

Lega, the party of Salvini, “does not have honour” and “does not respect their word.”

One might be inclined to assume that these insults were hurled from the centre-left, opposition newspaper columnists but instead they come from his own parliamentary allies in a WhatsApp group chat from 2018-2024.

The book Fratelli di chat, storia segrata del partito di Giorgia Meloni, is set to be released Saturday, which covers the rise of the party to political power over the last few years, which has been made possible by the uncovering of the secret conversations between Meloni, ministers, parliamentarians and leaders of the party (omitting matters that could be personal privacy violations).

The strategy was to beat Salvini on the economy, migrants and security.

The leader of Lega, who now is the Deputy Prime Minister of Meloni, who while he is politically aligned with FdI, is their competition, as they share the same voter base.

In 2018 Meloni accused Salvini of ‘hiding’ on tax, as his party had not upheld their electoral promises on flat taxes.

“I believe we can hit them hard,” said Francesco Lollobrigida, head of the group of parliamentarians, after a motion from FdI had been dismissed.

In the following months, they did not have much praise for Salvini in his role as Minister of the Interior with Guido Crosetto commenting that one of the things he did was ‘an act from a superficial lout’, while Lollobrigida added that he was ‘too ridiculous.’

On Dec. 11 2018 Salvini went to Israel and started a diplomatic clash with Lebanon by defining parts of Hezbollah as ‘Islamic terrorists’.

After some discussion in the chat Giovanbattista Fazzolari, who is now the party under-secretary, wrote ‘minister little bitch strikes again.’
