Fire in the control tower suspends all air-traffic at Ciampino, a Georgian national has been stopped by the police.

ROME – A Georgian national has been stopped by the police, who they believe is responsible for a fire in one of the rooms of the Ciampino control tower Wednesday morning, say police sources.
The man, who had been in Italy for a few days, was not known to the Police before the incident, said police sources.
The fire, had led to the removal of the air-traffic personnel from the tower due to the smoke, momentarily suspending departures and arrivals, while the smoke cleared.
The fire brigade put out the flames after a few minutes and there has been no damage to the equipment.
Aside from low-priced Ryaniar flights, Ciampino Airport is often used for offcial government flights.
The very same morning the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, departed from Ciampino for Marseilles, where was receiving an honorary doctorate from the University of Aix-Provence at 4 p.m.
