Venetian woman shot dead in Mexico
ROME - Mexican police have began investigations into the murder of Pamela Codardini, a 35-year-old from Favaro Veneto, who was killed in the state of Oaxaca along with her partner, Juan Yair, Mexican police have confirmed.
The couple were shot dead in their shop “Mr Green Smoke Shop” in Ocotlan de Morelos on Jan. 27. Police responded to reports of gun shots in the area.
Juan Yair’s mother identified both bodies.
Investigations into the crime are currently ongoing. Police believe that the attack was probably carried out by a commando wanting to settle a score with Yair. He was the only target. Codardini was likely killed so as not to leave witnesses to the murder.
Yair was identified as a “former hitman” who had allegedly links to the brother of the head of the “Los Medina” cartel.
Codardini’s first husband, from Friuli, was also killed by being burnt alive in Mexico in 2013.
