Jazz is back on the banks of the Sile river with Veneto's 'greenest' festival ‘Sile Jazz’

ROME - With concerts scheduled every weekend in June and July in 15 municipalities in the provinces of Treviso, Padua and Venice: this year's guests for the twelfth edition of ‘Sile Jazz’ include Uri Caine, Paolo Fresu and Omar Sosa, Florian Arbenz, Sunna Gunnlaugs and Daniele D'Agaro and Alessandro Turchet.
Running from June 2 – July 22 2023, listening to the territory, the communities that inhabit it and the surrounding environment: the festival intends, once again, to focus attention on the coexistence of natural and cultural ecosystems, through jazz. Attention to the artistic proposal has always been one of the strong points of the festival, which strives to offer the public a rich and varied programme, ranging from new artists to international stars.
Sile Jazz thus presents itself in its new edition with artists of the calibre of Uri Cane, for the date in collaboration with Asolo Musica in Venice; an ideal itinerary that winds its way through the sensual Cuban and Afro sounds of the Paolo Fresu and Omar Sosa duo, the influences of the Istrian tradition of GIIPUJA and the Nordic reflections of Sunna Gunnlaugs, the contemporary jazz of Swiss drummer Florian Arbenz, the dreamlike atmospheres of Jacopo Ferrazza 5et, and the magic of Luca Dell'Anna's piano.
Active throughout the year with initiatives dedicated to uniting music, culture, the environment, Sile Jazz continues to pursue its goal of becoming an increasingly "green" festival, reducing the environmental impact produced by the festival, engaging in projects to give back to the territory, and stimulating the construction of a network dedicated to slow, more attentive and curious tourism.
For this reason, Sile Jazz once again this year provides for the purchase of a ticket at the price of €2.00 (+ online presale fees) and €3. 00 for purchase on the spot for all concerts (excluding special events and Crociera Jazz), the proceeds of which are entirely reinvested in environmental actions for the local area.
The artistic director of Sile Jazz, Alessandro Fedrigo, said "We continue our path of an ecological festival that aims at cultural innovation, in a network of 15 municipalities, supported by the Veneto Region. The groups present are representatives of quality jazz, capable of arousing the public's curiosity… the Jazz Cruise, which closes the festival in 2023, the Eco Day, and the collaboration with Asolo Musica that brings Sile Jazz to Venice, in the splendid 'Lo Squero' Auditorium on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore. It will be a new summer of music, all to be discovered."
All evening concerts start at 9 p.m.; tickets (except for special events) € 2.00 + commission; € 3.00 on site, subject to availability.
