Programme of events to celebrate Fellini’s 100th birthday

RIMINI - A three day programme of events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Federico Fellini’s birthday has been organised by the Cineteca Comunale of Rimini, to take place online. Starting on Jan. 20, the legendary film director’s birthday, ‘Fellini Calls’ will be a series of online talks, screenings and masterclasses.
A native of Rimini, Fellini was best known for films such as 8 ½, La Strada and La Dolce Vita, considered some of the greatest films of all time. He died in 1993, the most celebrated Italian film director of all time.
The series will feature people who knew him and worked with him as well as film journalists and experts, including Vincenzo Mollica, Antonio Monda, Gianfranco Angelucci, Frank Burke and Francesca Fabbri Fellini, his niece.
On Jan. 18 and 19, the Officina Rimini Arte will also be screening a series of masterclasses on the cinema of Fellini, curated by Frank Burke, an expert on Fellini.
