Roberto Sgalla named Centre for American Studies Director

  ROME - The Centre for American Studies in Rome has welcomed the former Central Director of the Polizia Stradale as the new Director.

  Sgalla’s other previous roles include director of communications of the Italian State police, consultant of the Antimafia Commission from 1997 to 2000, director of the External Relations and Ceremonial Office of the Department of Public Security from 2000 to 2008 and director of the Scuola Superiore di Polizia from 2012 to 2014.

  He is also a Professor at Sapienza University of Rome and the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan. 

  He has said, “It is my utmost commitment to broaden the horizons of the Centre, consistent with its mission to provide increasingly timely and responsive services to the needs of CAS members, to open the Center to young people offering topics capable of meeting their expectations: music, literature, environmental and ecological issues between both shores of the Atlantic."
