Cisitalia is 'beautiful like Rome'
ROME -- The ’47 Cisitalia 202 SC is the winning vehicle of the Reb Concours – the car competition with a difference; it is judged by a team of experts from outside the motoring world.
The concept behind the first edition of the Rome Eternal Beauties (Reb), held in Rome across Tuesday and Wednesday, is that one does not need to be a motoring expert to judge the beauty of a car. The event, held on the greens of Rome’s Acquasanta Golf Club, which boasts unique views of the Eternal City, is not focused on traditional elegance but on the emotions the historic cars arouse.
Under the spotlight were 60 motoring ‘masterpieces’ adjudicated by "non-expert" judges from various industries including fashion, entertainment and information.
Among the jurors were Paola Severino, Simonetta Matone, Anna Fendi, Gabriele Lavia, Nancy Brilli and the director of Ansa Luigi Contu.
It was British Ambassador to Italy, Jill Morris, in her role as President of the event to announce the historic Cisitalia as the winner of the 'Bella Come Roma' (As beautiful as Rome) prize.
Other models on show included Ferrari 275 GTB, Alfa Romeo Freccia d’Oro, Rolls Royce Phantom 1930, Jaguar SS100 and XK120, Mercedes Gullwing and Porsche Speedster.
Proceeds from the event go to Circolo San Pietro charity organization to help the poor and needy of Rome.
