MILAN – Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has been released from hospital following a bout of Covid-19, Italian media reported.
“It was a difficult ordeal, but thank God and the doctors of San Raffaele I survived what I perhaps consider the most dangerous test of my life,” the 83-year-old said as he left the Milan hospital on Monday after 11 days of treatment for Covid-19.

Before falling ill, the media tycoon had made a public appeal not to underestimate the dangers of coronavirus.

“I have personally proven that until this virus is eradicated, everyone is exposed to the risk of contagion and infecting others,” Mr. Berlusconi said.

He is once again urging people to take the necessary precautions to avoid the spread of the virus.

According to local media, Mr Berlusconi will now quarantine at his villa in Arcore in the Lombardy region, until he returns a second negative test result for Covid-19.
