Tesio to present Taste Group award in Ascoli
ROME – The 16th edition of the prize of the Taste Group of the Foreign Press Association in Italy will be held in Ascoli Piceno Nov. 23-24 attended by journalists of the Association, officials say.
The journalists and their companions will leave by bus at 8 a.m. on Nov. 23 from Rome and will stay at the historic Palazzo Guiderocchi and 100 Towers hotels under the leadership of Alfredo Tesio, the influential founder of the Taste Group which is dedicated to helping foreign journalists learn more about the gastronomic delights of Italy and its different regions.
Dr Tesio also spearheaded efforts in the governing Council of the Foreign Press Association to reject a proposal by the president that the association make a donation to help pay the legal costs of Italian Insider's chief editor in his press freedom battle with the FAO.
At 1 p.m. journalists will enjoy a light welcome lunch before making a trip to Offida
At 5:30 p.m. the Taste Group Prize will be awarded by Sig. Tesio in the 18th century Snake Aureo Theatre to music from the Piceno-Marchigiano ensemble followed by a Gala Dinner at the Regional Marchigiana Enoteca in a former Franciscan monastery.
Journalists will return to Rome on the following day after a tour of Ascoli Piceno.
