Vanessa Ferrari wins Melbourne Gymnastics World Cup
MELBOURNE - After a year off due to injury, Italian gymnast Vanessa Ferrari has won the 2019 Melbourne World Cup.
After spending 2018 recovering from an injury to her Achilles tendon during the 2017 World Championships in Montreal, Ferrari returned to competition at this year’s Melbourne World Cup, the first World Cup in 2019 valid for the qualification to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
She competed on balance beam and floor exercise, claiming the best score both in qualifying and in the final of the free body.
The 28 year old from Orzinuovi defeated the competition with 13,600 points.
