French envoy honours Boldrini at Palazzo Farnese

ROME-The French Ambassador to Italy, Catherine Colonna, held an exclusive dinner at the French Embasy, the Palazzo Farnese, in honour of the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Laura Boldrini. In her welcoming speech, Mme Colonna celebrated her friendship with Signora Boldrini and what she said they they have achieved together over the last three years. The ambassador reaffirmed her full support for the Speaker of the Camera in her fight against cyberbullying.

 Around 30 guests attended the swish event, most of whom are prominent figures in politics, business and the media. Those invited include Secretary of State for European Affairs Sandro Gozi with wife Emanuela, the British Ambassador to Italy Jill Morris, President of the Defence Committee of the Chamber of Deputies Francesco Saverio Garofani with wife Andrea Manciulli, Spokesperson for the President of the Chamber of Deputies Roberto Natale, TV journalist and ex-politician Lilli Gruber with husband Jacques Charmelot and President of Italian TV network RAI Monica Maggioni.

The aperitif was served on the terrace designed by Michelangelo which overlooks the Tiber.

 The sumptuous dinner was prepared by the French Ambassador’s in-house Chef, Alain Benon, and took place between the magnificent frescos of the Galleria dei Carracci. The evening ended with after-dinner coffee in the Salone Rosso.
