ALTOFONTE-- Carabinieri paramilitary police have arrested four alleged Mafia henchmen, Salvatore Raccuglia, Salvatore La Barbera, Andrea di Matteo and Giuseppe Serbino, following accusations of extortion from a businessman from Altofonte, Palermo.

 The arrests were part of a crackdown over time against the four men's Mafia family in the Altofonte area, which led to the rounding up in March 2016 by police of leaders of the clan in the mob-infested town of San Giuseppe Jato.

 The aforementioned Altofonte businessman reported the Salvatore Raccuglia and his cronies, sick of their requests for protection money, which he had been paying since 2000.
