Sky Tg24 strike against closure

ROME -- Journalists of Sky Tg24 voted unanimously for a four-day strike in opposition to the closure of the company office in Via Salaria of the Italian capital, media sources said Friday.

The Editorial Committee reiterates its concern for the implications of the closure, regarding the loss of employment and the effects upon hundreds of colleagues and their families.

The plan, as presented, would lead to the eradication of the newscast which first broadcast in Rome in 2003 and has since proved itself to be a key player in the Italian media sphere.
