Headmaster fined for ‘twerking’ female student

The head teacher can be seen putting his hands on the student in a video uploaded to the internet

CASATENOVO -- Alessandro Fumagalli, head teacher of the Graziella Fumagalli state school, has been fined 350 euros as punishment for provocatively dancing and touching a young female student, Il Fatto Quotidiano reported Tuesday.

As displayed on an amateur video which other pupils had uploaded to the internet -- sparking outrage and leading to the subsequent investigation -- the head jumps down from the stage of the school theatre at the end of year party. Fumagalli then begins to ‘twerk’ with a female student, not immediately identified.

He can be seen putting his hands on the student’s bottom and beating it like a drum. Fumagalli defended his actions, explaining to Il Fatto Quotidiano, “I was invited to dance with the students in a funny manner … it was just a joke.” A joke, however, that was not enjoyed by the regional scholastic office who opened a case resulting in a 350 euro fine.

No further disciplinary action was undertaken, and the controversial teacher can still maintain his prestigious role at the institution. This is not the first time Fumagalli has been under speculation – the head allegedly abandoned multiple students at the Lione station in Paris on a school trip.
