Respectful greeting at UEFA Euro 2020 logo unveiling

Rome unveils UEFA Euro 2020 logo

ROME – Flamboyant Italian Olympic Committee President Giovanni Malagò respectfully kissed Mayor of Rome Virgiana Raggi's hand at the unveiling of UEFA Euro 2020 host city logo Thursday in an evident peace gesture after she vetoed Rome's candidature for the 2024 Olympics.

Although “theoretically possible,” the CONI president says that Plan B “is not the right path.”

Following the official ‘no’ to the Olympics 2024, Renzi confirmed, “the event is closed, it is not possible to hold the Olympics in city.”

However, Raggi is happy for the Eternal City to host the UEFA Euro 2020, arriving punctually to the grand unveiling of the host city logo. Deputy mayor, Daniela Frongia, insists that holding this event is “completely different” from hosting the Olympics.

Treating the potentially hostile situation with dignity, Malagò greeted Raggi with a kiss of the hand, later explaining, “a woman should never have to apologise.”
