Gentiloni meets Finnish foreign minister
ROME -- Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini visited had bilateral discussions with his Italian counterpart Paolo Gentiloni on Friday. The topics of the meeting included bilateral cooperation between Finland and Italy, EU affairs and the migration crisis in Europe. Other matters to be raised in the discussions will be the situation in Libya, Syria and Iraq as well as topical questions related to Russia and Ukraine.
During the visit, Mr Soini was delivering a speech on Arctic issues at the Italian Society for International Organization (SIOI) in collaboration with the Embassy of Finland with the title The growing importance of the Arctic Council and the upcoming Finnish Presidency, with an introduction by Franco Frattini, President of SIOI, and contributions by Vincenzo AMENDOLA, Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and by Finnish Ambassador in Rome, Janne Taalas.
Soini also was visitng the EUNAVFOR MED operation Sophia Headquarters.
