The 'Dante Marathon': 24 hours of Dante's 'Divine Comedy'

Readers of all backgrounds to take a share in Dante's great work

 ROME -- Beginning at 3pm, a 24-hour long reading of Dante's Divine Comedy' will be taking place in Caserta on Saturday. This marks the closing of the national celebrations for the 750th anniversary of the birth of Dante Alighieri.

 Continuing overnight until Sunday afternoon, the marathon will consist of 600 readers taking turns to read 5 triplets at a time from Dante's most acclaimed work. Among those expected to attend are writers, artists, academics and students, as well as other 'normal' people interested in the event.

 Sperello di Serego Aligheri, astrophysicist and descendant of Dante, is expected to begin the reading.
