Thief killer to run in local elections
MILAN - Francesco Sicignano, the pensioner from Vaprio d’Adda who shot dead a thief that broke into his villa last month, has revealed his candidacy for councillor for the party Forza Italia in the next local elections.
The announcement was made at Palazzo Marino during a press conference by the advisers of Forza Italia, Italy’s centre-right political party with Berlusconi at its head.
"I have great respect for Silvio Berlusconi”, he said, “because after all that happened, he decided to nonetheless remain in politics because he cares about the good of the country. I think Italy
should be managed like a business.”
Throughout his life, “I had always voted for the MSI”, said the pensioner, “but in the last election I chose Forza Italy.”
