Third edition of the Italian-German Economic Forum

Stefania Giannini

Florence - A full-day event dedicated to the dual training system, from the German experience to the Italian path will be held next Thursday at Palazzo Vecchio in the Tuscan capital.

The dual training system involves the integration of the education theory with the direct practice inside companies. In Germany it is an excellence since half a century, in Italy has just been introduced with the most recent “La Buona Scuola” reform and Florence can be considered one of the experimental fields at national level. Those are the main topics that will be discussed on December 3, 2015 during the third edition of the Italian-German Economic Forum, titled "Excellence and Training for a more young and competitive Europe", organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany (ITKAM) and the Chamber of Commerce of Florence.

The conference will be attended by Education Minister Stefania Giannini, the German Ambassador to Italy Susanne M. Wasum-Rainer, the president of the Italian Association of the Chambers of Commerce (Unioncamere) Ivanhoe Lo Bello, the president of ITKAM Emanuele Gatti, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Florence Leonardo Bassilichi, the mayor of Florence Dario Nardella, the undersecretary of education Gabriele Toccafondi, the Education councellor of Toscana Region Cristina Grieco, the deputy mayor of Florence Cristina Giachi, several representatives of schools and companies - in which the dual training system is already running - including entrepreneurs and labor unions. In addition, several Italian dual training systems tests, started in the Florentine schools, will be illustrated.

The forum will be held starting at 9 am in the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio and will be divided into four panel discussions. Simultaneous translation in Italian and German is foreseen. It is possible to follow the entire daily activity in live streaming on the Chamber of Commerce of Florence, PromoFirenze and ITKAM websites, and to comment on live through the hashtag #ITDEforum. Participatation to the Forum is free.
