Orlandi and Gregori investigation shelved

The missing posters for the girls

 

  ROME - The Roman judiciary has shelved the investigation on the mysterious disappearances and reported murders of Emanuela Orlandi and Mirella Gregori, which took place respectively on June 22 and May 7 1983. 

 

  The investigation saw six suspects investigated for complicity in the murder and kidnapping of the young girls: Pietro Vergari, former rector of the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare, Sergio Virtù, driver of Italian criminal, Enrico De Pedis, Angelo Cassani, Gianfranco Cerboni, ("Giggetto"), Sabrina Minardi and Marco Accetti.

 

  Emanuela, the 15-year-old daughter of a Vatican usher, disappeared on her way home from a music lesson in the Vatican, whereas Mirella, also 15, disappeared, after not returning home after a “date” with a former schoolmate .
