Rome - Six tipsey British tourists, all architects from Cirencester, stripped off and plunged into the Naiadi fountain in the piazza della Repubblica in the nude Monday, police said.
Many passers by spotted the swimmers and a police patrol raced to the scene after a bystander called the 113 emergency number. Officers invited the tourists, who were aged from 25 to 49, to get out of the fountain and get dressed.
The six were denounced on charges of carrying out obscene acts in a public place as well as breaking city by-laws by swimming in the fountain
