Cuvage's sparkling wines win over British panel

ROME- The international Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships founded by renowned English journalist Tom Stevenson awarded the silver prize to Cuvage’s Brut Rosé and Blanc de Blancs wines. The sparkling wines, produced in the North West Piedmont region of Italy, impressed the British panel of judges and showcased the very best of sparkling wine production in North Italy.

 “Tom Stevenson had also praised our traditional production methods, calling the Cuvage Rosé Brut “the most exciting and unconventional that I have tasted recently… So clear, so delicate, so fine”,” said Cuvage’s marketing director Enrico Gobino. The Cuvage cellars have also received critical acclaim from other international critics, particularly for the meticulous production conditions of its sparkling wines.

 The Blanc de Blancs (White of Whites) wine is a name deserved with its straw-coloured hue and its fine effervescence. “A careful selection of Chardonnay grapes and a minimum fining period of 18-20 months create the delicate aroma of fruits, spices and bread crust, forming a perfect harmony on the palate, perfect for fish-based dishes” according to a press release from Cuvage.

 The Rosé Brut, made from hand-picked grapes from the Piedmont region, boasts of a rosy hue and a rich aroma of fruit and flowers. The wine company says that is the perfect accompaniment for a seafood risotto.

 The Rosé Brut was also featured at a charity benefit, headed by famed Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli. Bocelli organised the exclusive Dinner for Haiti event at his residence where three jeroboams (3 litre bottles) of Brut Rosé de Cuvage costing 15,000 euros a piece were enjoyed by guests.
