John Cabot and FAO unite in fight against poverty

ROME - The John Cabot University Centre for Professional and Continuing Education in collaboration with the FAO, has announced the arrival a new English language short course entitled “Communicating to Inspire Change: Food Security and Sustainability” that will be held from July 13 to July 17, from 9.00am to 5.00pm.

The course will be held at John Cabot University’s Rome campus and will give all attendees an overview of world hunger issues, all the while teaching such attendees the ability to communicate these ideas. The course is open to both post-graduate students and young professionals who will have the opportunity to interact with leading academics and practitioners. The teaching will not only be lecture-based, but also will involve group work, role-plays and discussion; allowing students to truly build upon their communication skills and giving them the opportunity to actively, rather than passively, learn.

The FAO wishes to work together with the University in order to achieve its goals of food security for all and to ensure that people have regular access to a sufficient amount of high-quality food and that they have an active lifestyle. Furthermore, both the FAO and JCU believe that students are the leaders of tomorrow, and this initiative provides them with the knowledge and communication abilities to solve hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition problems in the future.
