Mancini could face bankruptcy trial

ROME - Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini is one of four men who could stand trial for the bankruptcy of construction company IMG. According to national media reports, a preliminary hearing on May 20 will determine whether the men face court over the allegations.

Rome prosecutors have reportedly recommended that Mancini and the other three men be sent to trial for draining two million euros of capital from IMG between 2006 and 2009, as funding for phony operations. Businessman Marco Mezzaroma, who is one of the others under investigation, and Mancini, had no direct investment in the company but are reported to have been connected to IMG through another corporation, Mastro, which specialises in the construction and real estate markets.

Mancini, who became famous as a player for Sampdoria and Lazio, is back at Inter for a second spell in charge, having taken over the reigns from Walter Mazzarri in November.
