One Italian on new Foreign Press Association board

Rome - Gianfranco Nitti, a journalist based in Rome and a contributor to Italian Insider since its inauguaration, is a correspondent from Italy for Finnish media. Nitti has been re-elected to the new governing board of the Association of Foreign Press in Italy, ASEI, as a representative of freelance journalists.

 Mr. Nitti has been representing Finnish media in Italy since 1989, having enjoyed a long experience as a stringer for Finland's media both in print and on the web. He has also been a Finnfacts' representative since the early 1980s, spreading info about the Finnish economy, industry and society. In the 1970s, he was an active member of the Foreign Press Association in Helsinki.

 German Tobias Piller, correspondent of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung was elected as president of the Association; also another German Constanze Reuscher (Die Welt) was elected as the Secretary.

 They were elected at the conclusion of the members’ general meeting with the new governing council holding office during the period 2015-2016. Throughout this particular mandate, Mr.Nitti will represent the only Italian journalist on the board.

 The Association, which has over 400 members split between Rome and Milan, is one of the oldest in the world of its kind, and marked its 100th anniversary in 2012 with various celebratory events.
