ROME-‘Try it with me’ (‘Provaci con me’) is the title of a new advert by the National Boxing Federation involving various female boxers to help women victims of physical or mental violence.

The initiative was created by the president of the Italian Boxing Federation, Alberto Brasca, and vice president Walter Borghino, and consists of an emergency plan that enables women who are, or who have been, victims of abuse to overcome the subsequent effects.

The advert shows the ordinary lives of various women who are victims of household violence. Each woman appears eloquently dressed but also wearing the classic boxing gloves used in the ring to symbolise their desire to redeem their dignity with closed fists. The public sees the transformation of their anger into courage.

Among those involved in the initiative are famous female athletes from the National Women's boxing society, such as Terry Gordini, Valeria Calabrese, Marzia Verrecchia, Romina Marenda, Valentina Alberti, Francesca Amato and Flavia Severin.

In addion, a sim phone will be given to the women that connects to hospitals, social workers, law firms, and law enforcement agencies offering legal advice and psychological support from volunteers and professionals.
