Milan BIT gets makeover

ROME-BIT, the Milan International Tourism Exchange gets a new all-in-one concept. The 2015 edition, scheduled from 12 to 14 February at Fiera Milano in Rho, will feature plenty of new entries and an approach that reaches right across the market for business segments and no longer just for geographic areas.

It will host prominent buyers from all over the world, interested in meeting sellers in fixed appointments, which will take place directly at the exhibitor stands: the agenda of meetings will be included in the exhibition package. BIT 2015 will also host a delegation of Italian buyers for the area dedicated to the international tourism offer, increasing the number of specialized Italian and international buyers present to 1500.

In the Leisure section, which will bring together Italian and international tourist demand and offer, there will also be room for the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Events), Art & Culture and Italian Food & Wine segments. Meanwhile, Luxury World will be entirely dedicated to the luxury segment, with representatives of five-star hotels, elegant lake residences, spa resorts, fine historical homes, hotel boutiques, charming mountain chalets and shopping malls. The world of innovative technologies for tourism will be covered by Digital World, which will group together business & networking services and the exclusive digital and social content, both physical and virtual, of the new BIT.

A very important role will also be played by events promoting internationalization of Italian companies. The aim of the BIT in the World project is to help Italian operators develop new business opportunities in emerging markets. Starting with BIT China, by using GITF, the Guangzhou International Travel Fair, where Fiera Milano is one of the organizers, as the launching pad. In its most recent edition, GITF comprised 750 exhibitors, 700 buyers and 21,000 business matching opportunities.

BIT’s Annual Tourism Congress is also featured in the internationalization process and provides the opportunity to encounter international professionals. It will focus on topical issues, prospects for development, successful business models, with speakers from major companies, consulting firms and the academic world.
