Transport strike likely to disrupt service in Rome

ROME - Four workers' unions in Italy have called for a transport strike on Wednesday that will affect ATAC staff in Rome, likely disrupting bus, metro, tram, and railway service.

The CGIL, CISL, UIL, and UGL Transport unions have called for strikes to be held in Rome on Wednesday so that transit workers can participate in protests "against the economic measures of the government."

The strike will last from 9 am until 1 pm and will likely disrupt bus, tram, and metro service. Staff in ticketing windows will also be included in the strike.

The Roma-Lido, Termini-Giardinetti, and Rome-Viterbo urban railway lines will also face likely disruption.
