Photographic art: Marcello Nitti from Taranto in Sweden with the 'Infinity on the horizon'

Marcello Nitti

Marcello Nitti, well-known photographer and cultural operator from Italy returns to Sweden, for a new exhibition at the prestigious photographic art gallery, Artphotocollection in Gothenburg, the second most important city in the Nordic country.

This is how Nitti explains in a few words the essential reasons for his photographic art inspiration: "since I felt the need to seize the moment, I felt prompted to transfer my vision onto a sheet of paper. A fatal attraction, one might say… Each of my photos is a mysterious and magical moment, even if technically explainable. Research and the discovery of new languages of photography have always fascinated me. My photos are my dreams, my music, my cinematic influences and my knowledge combined. Through this curious relationship with the camera, I found myself. I constantly feel compelled to explore new horizons in photography to challenge its limitations and expand my possibilities. With just one click of my camera, I find myself in another world where passion embraces life and desire. By pushing and pulling the camera, I will transport myself to many imaginary worlds. My photos are postcards of my journey. This helps me improve and grow spiritually. All of this is like a dream and a hook to the infinite that borders the horizon”.

Marcello Nitti was born and raised in Taranto, Puglia. He continues to live in his native city, an important urban settlement founded by the Greeks in the eighth century BC. along the Ionian Sea. For over 30 years he has developed his relationship with photography, challenging his patience and expanding its limits and continuing to experiment. Once satisfied that he has captured the vision, which can take up to a year and which also commits him to position himself in awkward positions for long periods of time, with a single click he stops his images. Then, without any digital manipulation, he transposes them onto fine art paper with high quality ink in various formats. He has various exhibitions in Puglia and already 4 exhibitions in Sweden, Stockholm and Gothenburg, between 2015 and 2020. Each photo is numbered, signed, authenticated and guaranteed. (ng)

The exhibition opens on 29.4.2023 and ends on 31.5.2023
