Puglia teenagers part of American terrorist group

Bari police arrested group that was part of a violent extremist organization

ROME – A group of young adults have been arrested in Bari due to their affiliation with an international extremist group, police said. Police arrested them and reported that the teenagers were taking part in a display of neo-Nazism, spewing antisemitic hate as part of their group affiliation. It was reported that the group was prepared to take part in an extreme sacrificial display, “in defense of the white race.”

One of the boys in the group, 23-year-old Luigi Antonio Pennelli, has been arrested and accused of instigation of violence and spreading propaganda that was antisemitic, misogynistic, and deadly. The police documented him and the others as belonging to the American supremacist terrorist organization named “The Base.”

During the investigation, police seized their computers and found instructions on how to 3D print guns and procure other weapons. The police found messages between the group on Telegram, in a chat named, “Sieg Heil” revealing a video that made death threats to Senator Liliana Segre.

The police have concluded that the arrested suspects were introduced to the organization and further radicalized through the web. Their terrorist participation has taken place mostly online, and the most concerning evidence collected was from their computers.
