Tightened security puts pressure on Olympic director

ROME- The Olympics Broadcasting Services (OBS) have tightened security regulations, putting pressure on movie director Danny Boyle and his development of the 2012 London Olympic’s opening ceremony scheduled for later this week.

‘Slumdog Millionaire’ film director and nine time Oscar winner, Mr Boyle, must cut 30 minutes from the ‘Isle of Wonders’ masterpiece so that the 80,000 attendees may catch the last train home from Stratford.

The half hour trim was advised with only nine days until the show to go. After two years of hard work and sweat, Mr Boyle and the thousands of workers participating in 27 million pound creation, were faced with the half hour trim challenge with just nine days till the show to go.

The initial idea for the ceremony was to have ‘a green and pleasant land’ including with tens of farm-yard chickens, ducks, geese, 30 sheep, some cows and goats. The pastoral setting was to showcase Britain’s own pastoral history, but is now will be reduced to a more urban.

Despite the crippling of his artistic freedom, Boyle told reporters, “Our ‘Isle of Wonders’ salutes and celebrates the exuberant creativity of the British genius in an opening ceremony that we hope will be as unpredictable and inventive as the British people”.

The 2012 Olympic Opening is set for July 27.
