Roma and Lazio discover their 2022/23 Serie A fixture list

The Stadio Olimpico will host both S.S Lazio and AS Roma games in 2022/23

ROME – The city’s two top flight football clubs discovered their fixture schedule for the forthcoming 2022/23 Serie A season.

S.S Lazio will host Bologna on the opening matchday of the season at the Stadio Olimpico while AS Roma will travel to Campania to face U.S. Salernitana 1919. Both games will take place across the weekend of the Aug. 13 with exact days and kick off times to be finalised later.

AS Roma’s first home league game will then be week later where they will play newly promoted U.S. Cremonese. On the same weekend S.S Lazio will make their first away trip of the season to take on Torino.

The two clubs will face each other for the first time in the Derby della Capitale on Oct. 6 with the second derby of the season on March 19.

This season there will be a unique midseason break due to the Qatar World Cup being held in winter with a complete break from Serie A football from Nov. 13 to Jan. 4.

On the final day of the season on June 4 AS Roma will finish off their season at home against Spezia while S.S Lazio will face one final road trip to Empoli.

With both clubs playing sharing the home ground of the Stadio Olimpico it means that during the regular season there will be a match in Rome on every weekend of the Serie A season.

Last season S.S Lazio finished above their city rivals in fifth place on 64 points while AS Roma finished one point and one place below in sixth.

Both Rome clubs are also in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League this season with the draw for the competition set to take place on Aug. 26, 2022.
