Criminal organisations apprehended for hacking into surveillance systems

Lombardy Postal Police Department

MILAN – The State Police of Milan arrested gang members on Wednesday for hacking into video surveillance systems installed in private homes, gym and swimming pool changing rooms and private studios.

Milan and Rome’s postal police departments worked together to conclude a judicial police operation that disrupted spy camera systems operating in 10 cities across Italy.

The criminal groups were charging people 20 euros to use the cameras to spy on unsuspecting citizens directly into their houses or gyms and swimming pools.

A large amount of computer equipment has been seized and the gang members have been arrested in the Rear Window police operation.

At the press conference on Wednesday, Tiziana Liguoir, the director of the Lombary Postal Police Department was joined by prosecutors Maria Letizia Mannella and Eugenio Fusco at the Milan Police Headquarters to present the evidence.
