VARESE - Several teams of firefighters and civil protection volunteers tried to reach the mountain village of Vararo on Sunday where around 100 people were blocked due to fallen trees.

 The trees blocked the road between Cittiglio and Laveno Mombello.  

 In the municipality of Casalzuigno (Varese) a flooded stream goes into some of the houses. Fire brigade teams are working there, including teams from the Milan and Monza-Brianza commands. 

 In total, there have been about 100 urgent technical rescue interventions.
