President Mattarella welcomes new Algerian Ambassador to Italy

Ambassador of the Algerian Democratic and Popular Republic in Italy, Abdelkrim Touahria with President Sergio Mattarella

 ROME - The new Ambassador of the Algerian Democratic and Popular Republic in Italy, Abdelkrim Touahria, was yesterday received by the Italian President, Sergio Mattarella at the Quirinal Palace, to whom he presented the credentials sent to him by the Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

 During the occasion, he turned to President Mattarella to recall the traditional deep historical, economic, social and cultural ties that make bilateral relations rich and fruitful in every sector.

 The Algerian Ambassador expressed his intention to work during his mandate to expand the areas of collaboration between Italy and Algeria as much as possible, also looking at the numerous Italian companies that operate successfully in the country in full synergy with Algerian partners. In this context, Ambassador Touahria also recalled the commitment on the Algerian side to strengthen collaboration in every sector that could contribute to further deepening relations between the two countries.

 Algeria - underlined Ambassador Touahria - strongly supports the path undertaken by the two countries and strengthened by the recent state visit of President Sergio Mattarella for a strategic partnership, that will allow the two to continue along the path of economic integration and will help create an area of peace, stability, well-being and security in the face of the challenges and criticalities of the common neighbourhood.
