Rave party north of Rome continues unchecked

VITERBO -- A rave party in the province of Viterbo attended by some 10,000 people continued for a sixth day Thursday despite appeals by local authorities to the interior minister to close down the gathering as a risk for spreading Covid-19 and to security after a young British man attending it died in a nearby lake.

The owner of the area being used at Valentano has denounced that participants also have killed cattle and were expropriating parts of his farm. In addition to the young English man of italian origin found dead in the lake from suspected drug abuse four others are in a coma.
The Lazio health alderman D'Amato has suggested the use of water fired from fire-fighting Canadair aircraft be used to persuade the crowds to leave.
