ROME - Pope Francis paid a visit on Tuesday to the Paediatric Oncology ward of Rome's Gemelli Hospital, where he is recovering from a colon operation. The ward is on the same floor as where he has been under observation following his surgery.

  The pontiff greeted and prayed for several sick children on his visit, showing solidarity with his fellow in-patients, as he walked through the corridors of the ward.
