One dead and two injured after Lake Como motorboat crash

  TREMEZZINA - One person has died and two have been injured after two motorboats collided on Lake Como.

  The fatal crash happened in the western branch of the Lombardy lake off the shore of Villa del Balbianello in Lenno, in the province of Tremezzina. The deceased is a 22-year-old boy, who died immediately on impact. Two of his friends were injured, though their lives are not in danger.

  According to preliminary reconstructions of the crash, the boat with the three young men was hit by a motorboat, used to tow waterskis, driven by a Belgian tourist with several other foreign tourists on board. 

  The boats and survivors were brought to shore by emergency services and Carabinieri are interrogating those involved.
