Investigation opens into separate rape accusation by Ciro Grillo's accuser

TEMPIO PAUSANIO - The Public Prosecutor’s Office of Tempio Pausanio has opened a investigative file into a separate accusation of rape by the same girl who accused Beppe Grillo’s son and three of his friends of the same crime.

Earlier this month, the same prosecutor’s office requested a trial for Ciro Grillo and his friends Francesco Corsiglia, Edoardo Capitta and Vittorio Lauria, who are accused of raping a girl, 19 at the time, after a party in July 2019 at Grillo’s house in Porto Cervo.

Now, however, the prosecutors Gregorio Capasso and Laura Bassani have opened a file into the sexual abuse that allegedly occurred a year before the lawsuit began into Ciro Grillo and his friends.

This new file was opened "given the statements made" by the young girl "in a report of February 17, 2020, in which she reported that while camping in Norway in May 2018, she was sexually abused by a friend of Nicaraguan nationality.”

The inquest will probably be transferred to the Juvenile Court, because the girl was a minor at the time of the abuse. She told the prosecutors that she had never made an accusation as she “didn’t understand what had happened, and also a little out of fear and then also because he was my best friend. I thought it was weird, I don’t know.”

The accused is allegedly the son of a well known Norwegian journalist and former politician. The father of the young man says that his son “categorically denies the accusation.”
